Ainge, an Oregon native, played for the University of Tennessee from 2004 – 2007, during which time he racked up numerous awards and honors from the SEC and across college football.
In the years since his professional football career, Erik established himself firmly in the Knoxville community and set roots that, along with his football connections, provide a listening experience that is exclusive and exciting for all college football fans.
Starting as a student in the fall of 2001, I spent a combined 15 years in the UT Athletics Media Relations office as a student assistant, graduate assistant, consultant and from 2013-16 served as the full-time writer for UTSports.com, the department’s in-house website.
Joel Silverberg came to Sports Radio WNML in 2014 shortly after graduating from Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia. He currently produces the Erik Ainge Show and Sports 180 on Sports Radio WNML. On weekends, you can hear him as the studio host for high school football coverage and as the host of Saturday Sportstalk. Joel also serves as the play-by-play voice for the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League. A Knoxville native, Joel grew up an avid fan of the University of Tennessee, as well as the Tennessee Titans and the Nashville Predators.
